Carrie Underwood posted photos revealing a fresh hairstyle on her Instagram on August 5, 2025. She spoke candidly about her transformation in the caption.

"Well, the last time I saw my natural hair color, I was probably about 12 years old, but I thought it might be time to give it a second chance." Underwood wrote.

The first image shows the songstress's soft waves styled with a middle part, highlighting the new bronde shade that blends blond and light brown tones.

"I'd love to do a little more with hair color. I've always been blonde! The problem is, I don't want to shock people –– like if I dyed my hair brown, I don't want people [sic] think I'm turning dark and serious."

Underwood wished she had started experimenting with her hair earlier so it wouldn't surprise people when she tried something different later in life. Although she recently changed her hair color, it is not the first time the songwriter has cut her hair. When she sported a shorter hairstyle in 2016, the star explained how she styled it.

"Now that my hair is shorter, it's easier to fix, which was the whole point. Cutting my hair was a 'mom' move. I wash my hair every day and I know that's not great for it, but I work out and I sweat a lot so I need to," she explained in a separate interview.

Underwood said she could either spend 30 minutes blow-drying her "super long" hair or use that time to play with her son, adding she would much rather choose the latter.

In the same interview, the Grammy Award winner reflected on her earlier years in the music industry regarding her hairstyle. She mentioned that a lot happened when she was on "American Idol," adding:

"That was my first time having anybody fix my hair. Even growing up, when we'd go to prom, I did my own and I've always done my own."
